Richard J. Robillard MBA

President

Rich Robillard has worked in the energy and resource industries for more than 18 years and spent the past 12 years in occupational, health & safety risk management roles. He has held leadership positions with both major service providers and resources producers, domestically and internationally. In the past 8 years, his focus has been on worker physiological and behavioural risk and its business impact, specifically addressing drugs, alcohol and fatigue risk in the workplace. Mr. Robillard received his MBA from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary in 2008.

Jay L. Boehm B.A., M.A.

Chief Technology Officer

Jay Boehm has worked in IT and software development for twenty years. Mr. Boehm’s previous positions include Vice President of Technology at iStockphoto, a subsidiary of Getty Images, where he was responsible for web application development, website operations, and physical IT infrastructure. Before his time at Getty Images, Mr. Boehm worked for Autonomy with global responsibility for quality assurance within the enterprise solution group. He also led application and software development teams on three continents as Chief Technology Officer of the ETalk division.

Mike Harnett B.P.E., Kin, ESS

Vice President Human Factors

Mike Harnett has over 25 years experience in industrial, field, and office ergonomics management systems, with a specialty in fatigue risk management. Mike is a former regional president of the Association of Canadian Ergonomists and is an active participant on several Canadian Standards Association technical committees. Ms. Harnett is widely recognized as one of the foremost subject matter experts in North America on workplace fatigue, known for her ability to take complex subjects and deliver their content in a simplified and innovative manner for all to understand. She is frequently engaged as a keynote and technical speaker.

Dale Burstall

Partner Burstall Winger LLP

Mr. Burstall received his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary in 1982 and his Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia in 1985. He was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1986. He joined the firm in 1987 as an associate, and became a partner in 1994. Mr. Burstall has practiced in the area of commercial law since joining the firm, with an emphasis on securities law. His practice includes all aspects of securities law from both the perspective of an issuer or an underwriter, including initial public offerings, secondary financing, mergers and acquisitions, and all dealings with regulators including stock exchanges and securities commissions.

Blane Charles

Retired Executive Champion Technologies

Mr. Charles has over 35 years of experience working in the upstream petroleum sector. With the exception of four years in the California oil industry, his career has been focused on Western Canada. Most of those years were with Champion Technologies, a leading chemical supplier to the energy industry. His experience ranges from field-based sales, sales management, technical services management, General Manager, and as the Vice-President of Canadian operations for several years. Mr. Charles has recently retired after working as a Senior Advisor. Over the last few years, he has served as a board member of the Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC), as well as EnForm's Board of Directors (safety association of Canada's upstream oil & gas industry).

Dr. Robert Schulz B.Sc., MBA, PhD

Professor, Strategic & Global Management Academic Director, Petroleum Land Management University of Calgary

Dr. Schulz is a Professor in the Strategy & Global Management (SGMA) and Business & Environment (BSEN) areas. He has been teaching at the Haskayne School of Business since 1973. Dr. Schulz received his BA (Mathematics) from St. Vincent College, BS in Mechanical-Industrial from University of Notre Dame, MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, and PhD in Business Administration from Ohio State University. He is currently the Academic Director for the Petroleum Land Management concentration. Prior to joining Haskayne, Dr. Schulz was Education Director for Management Horizons Data Systems in Columbus, Ohio. He has taught Strategic Decision-Making for MBAs as an Adjunct Professor for Mendoza College of Business at University of Notre Dame.

Kevin Reardon B.Sc., B.Eng.

Energy & Mining Solution Executive Natural Resource Solution Centre IBM Canada

Mr. Reardon has over 30 years of experience working in the energy and mining sector. He has worked at a variety of mining companies across Canada as well as Oil sands Operations in Fort McMurray. His experience includes roles in mine planning, field supervision, senior engineering, manager of technology and General Manager of Mine Operations and Maintenance. Recently Mr. Reardon joined IBM Canada as a consultant in the Natural Resource Solution Centre in Calgary to provide subject matter expertise to Oil, Gas & Mining clients.

Dustin Wilkes P.Eng, MBA

President Parkland Pipeline Contractors

With a broad range of experience Mr. Wilkes has come from working in industries ranging from Plant Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, Process Engineering and Oilfield Construction.  Mr. Wilkes is currently the President of Parkland Pipeline Contractors, a division of Tetra Tech Inc. specializing in Pipeline Construction throughout Western Canada.  In addition to working in Canada he has worked on projects all over the world including: Azerbaijan, United Arab Emirates, and the Bahamas.  Mr. Wilkes has a Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta and an MBA from the University of Calgary.
